Bluehost

Bluehost is a bulk, commodity web host owned and operated by Newfold Digital (formerly EIG).
My Rating: 1 / 5
1/5

Pros

  • All in one hosting with cheap intro price

Cons

  • Poor, insecure server infrastructure makes site hacks sadly commonplace
  • Poor site performance
  • Support that follows scripts and flowcharts rather than listen to what you’re saying.

I’m not going to spend a ton of time talking about Bluehost.

Yes, they are popular. Mainly because they have a heck of an affiliate program which entices a lot of bloggers to go out and say great things. But, trust me, they are saying that for the money. Anybody in this business knows Bluehost isn’t where you go for great hosting or great service.

Yes, Bluehost is convenient. They offer to do everything. It is a classic “all in one” host that can be all things to all people… and offer startup pricing of as low as $2.95/mo.

Yes, that’s cheap. But, you get what you pay for.

I’ve not only seen a lot of sites hacked on BlueHost, I experienced it myself.

哦,如果你的网站is hacked into, they will blame you. And they will try to charge you money to fix it. Problem is, in almost all cases, it was their insecure server infrastructure that led to your site being open to attack in the first place.

In terms of support, they are scripted. They don’t usually know what they’re actually talking about. They will ask you things that are downright stupid as they work through their flowchart.

网站loadtime不是恒星。

I have very little good to say about BlueHost.

Any “guru” telling you how great Bluehost is for you is saying that only because of their fat commission check. That’s the truth.
